From idea to reality
Datatech was founded in 2012, after our founder discovered — while working in computer repair and support at a large technology company — that Iceland had no professional option for complex data recovery. He set out to research the solutions available on the market, trained with Acelab, a global leader in the industry, and went on to found Datatech to bring this specialist service to Iceland.
Our goal is to be the leading company in data recovery, data backup and data security. We work to be a partner you can trust with your data and your business.

Andri Steinn Jóhannsson
Andri has spent his entire career in IT, starting at Opin kerfi in 2003. He went on to work as a DevOps specialist at the payment processing company Median and as a systems administrator at Point Transaction Systems, and he also works in digital forensics for the Icelandic government.
He holds an MBA from the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) and has completed studies in systems administration and digital forensics.

Confidentiality
Every Datatech employee is bound by strict confidentiality towards our customers, and is required to protect any data and information they come across in the course of their work. This obligation applies both inside and outside the company, and remains in force even after an employee leaves Datatech.
Security
We follow ISO 27001 standards for handling data and are currently working towards ISO 27001 certification through Vanta.com. We keep customer data only while we are working on it, always on encrypted media and under secure access control.
Professionalism
We use only the best solutions on the market, and we upgrade our specialist equipment whenever new versions are released. We always run the latest software and follow standardised procedures for handling customer data, so that every customer receives the same treatment and our work stays fully in line with data protection law.
